The whole monastic, initiated in 1649, replaced the original Cenobio of Clare nuns, the bed of the river Mondego was ruined.
The building was built in Baroque style, sober and utilitarian, dotted by turrets. In the church, put it in the altarpiece of the chapel-mor, the urn of silver and crystal, of the century. XVII, which is venerated the body of Queen Santa Isabel.

The original tomb of the city's patron, in rock, performed by Master Pêro in 1330, is at the bottom of the church choir. The cloister of 1733, has risk of Carlos Mardel.
